Not Dead by a Long Shot – The Benefits of Email Marketing
So many digital marketers think that email marketing is dead, but it is, in fact, still thriving, even among the spams and scams that seem to hit everybody’s inbox on a daily basis. There is still a lot of useful email content. Much of it comes from your favorite stores and brands, but the bottom line is that it comes as an email. This is something that should not be overlooked as you, too, can benefit from an email marketing campaign done properly.
Of course, the first thing to have is an email list. While you can buy these lists, it is far better to spend some time building one that people will actually want to be on. Potential customers like to be just that, and using a bought list comes off like more spam to their inboxes. Use things like surveys and poles to boost your email list, always making sure you give your target audience and opt-out as well as an opt-in.
Once you have your list in place, you can create an email marketing campaign. You can do this on your own or by using a company specializing in email marketing services. Whichever you choose, it will all start with the email you choose to send out.
The email you create should start with a strong subject line. Make it engaging, and the kind of line that makes everyone looking at it want to open the email straight away. Think of what your potential customers might want to see, and then work off that when creating the body. This might be strictly informational or might even be a sale of some kind. No matter what, though, be sure to come off as informative and not too sales-heavy.
When done properly, an email campaign can be a very efficient and cost-effective way to generate some new business, or at the very least, some new clicks to your website. It is a great way to get a lot of people all at once to see your products or services. Though time-consuming, it is something that can be very worthwhile in the end. Long live email marketing!
