What is a VPS Server?
VPS stands for “virtual private serve.” The average website is hosted on a “shared hosting server (SHS)” and will share the server with thousands, sometimes tens of thousands, of other websites. This can slow a website speed down considerably, as well as reduce the security of the site. At PMIHosting, we host all our clients, with average storage needs, on our VPS server, therefore only sharing the server among hundreds not thousands of websites ensuring your site’s utmost speed and security.
How important is hosting and speed?

Is it expensive having my site on a VPS server?
Yes, if you want to have your very own server and share it with no one, then it can get expensive. However, hosting your site on our VPS server, only sharing it with a few hundred websites is the same cost as having a “shared hosting server (SHS)” sharing with thousands of websites. This allows you the benefits of a VPS server at the cost of an SHS. Note: There are some exceptions such as an eCommerce site with hundreds of products on it, but ultimately the cost will still be less than having your own VPS server.
How much storage will be available?
We can offer and work with almost any size data storage you might need. If your site requires an enormous amount of storage, we will recommend your own VPS server so as not to take away from our VPS clients and to better your own website. Note: this would be a huge website requiring a lot of storage, not your average site.
Will I be able to have an email address of my choosing?
Typically, we can give you custom domain email names to look more professional for your business. There are very rare instances where special variations could be taken.
