When it comes to SEO, it really is all about your searchers. After all, you had your website designed and developed just for these people. In other words, they are the ones you are trying to capture with your SEO marketing efforts, so it makes sense that you would want to know their persona…even before you get into any heavy SEO stuff.
To figure out their persona, you must first figure out what it is they are looking for. Well, that will ultimately be what you have to offer. But, in what way are they looking for this? The great news here is that all you have to do is pull up a web browser and type in Google.com. The answers are all right there. Simply do a quick search using some ideal keywords and phrases, and you’ll see exactly what does and doesn’t work when targeting your potential searchers.
Once you can figure out what words and phrases lead your searchers to businesses like yours, the next step is to create the perfect content to hook them. This should be done with a very cautious approach. While you do want to use keywords and other tricks of the trade that Google loves, you also need to keep your searchers in mind…first and foremost. So, you should really focus more on topics that will have your searchers wanting to engage. Again, this is not to say that keywords should be ignored., but by focusing on key topics, you’ll attract more of your searchers, and honestly, the keywords will come in a much more organic way.
Another thing to keep in mind with your content creation is to make sure your brand is not forced on your searchers. It is especially important if your products and brand are relatively new. Instead of force-feeding your searchers your brand at every corner, let the product, or products, speak for themselves, which will, in turn, speak to your brand…and help you build it with a good reputation.
At the end of the day, while you may be in business for yourself, you aren’t your own boss. That title goes to your searchers as they are what will ultimately become your customers and buy the products and/or services you have to offer. By keeping their persona at the forefront of your SEO plans, you will ensure success for your business and a nice healthy bottom line.
