Creating Content that is Truly Notable

Creating Content that is Truly Notable

One of the golden rules of SEO is content, content, content. While this rule is indeed a must for any SEO campaign, it does beg the question, how do you create content that is truly notable? After all, anyone can throw up content, but as people rely more and more on the information they find online, it just makes sense to be sure the content you put out is quality and not just filler fluff.

The first step in creating that noteworthy content is having reliable data. Since you are not likely to break a big story, you must then rely on sources that are within your industry. In other words, do your research. Collect as much data about the content you plan to create so that when it is created, it is both engaging and interesting. To that point, try to develop a new angle to cover a specific topic. This can come in the way of taking a survey or two to gain an insight into how people want to learn about a topic you plan to cover.
The next step in creating notable content is to think about how your content will affect your target audience. Will it elicit emotion? You will want to have a general idea of what you want your readers to feel when they read your content. Do you want them to feel a sense of urgency? Maybe a sense of excitement…maybe even wonder. The point is you want them to feel something. Content that creates emotion will be far more engaging, and engagement leads to interaction…or more clicks, to be precise.

Finally, noteworthy content is content that is designed to grab the attention of a certain sector of the population. In other words, a certain niche. This fits right into SEO marketing at a more local level. Now, this might sound like the wrong thing to do. After all, shouldn’t you want more eyeballs on the content? Well, yes, but you also want quality eyeballs on the content. It does you little good to drive a bunch of people to content that they won’t be impacted by and therefore not likely read to the end.

In simple terms, creating notable content takes some time and some thought. But your consideration of your audience and the actual content will pay off with newsworthy content that will affect the right people and create the kind of emotion and even buzz that will do wonders for your SEO marketing campaign.
